After some powerful shifts in February, early March brings a totally different perspective. With Mercury retrograde in Pisces, logical thinking goes out of the window in favour of a strong intuitive connection. There is a lot of confusion and a lot of murkiness in the air.

The Lunar Eclipse in Virgo still has the potential to drastically change what our every day looks like - especially if you have any placements in the signs of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius. This issue’s journalling prompts help you discover and design the exact type of life that you want to be living way beyond the peak moments, but day after day.

This week’s manifestation technique invites you further to consider the habits, systems and routines that are actively shaping your life.

Without further ado, enjoy!

Lots of love,

Chrissy

Key Astro dates for your calendar

March 3: A Lunar Eclipse in Virgo but no other significant transits are exact this day, so the focus is all on the Moon. It’s time to release perfectionist tendencies as well as any systems that you might have outgrown (see this issue’s Manifestation Technique!)

March 6: Venus moves into Aries, the sign of her detriment. Ego battles could ensue in relationships as the focus moves from the common good to the good of the individual. For singles, this heralds a perfect time to go after what you want and initiate the first step.

March 7: A Mercury Cazimi in Pisces brings clarity on our dreams and subconscious motivations. Meanwhile Venus also conjuncts Neptune in Aries, motivating us to stop dreaming about the relationships we want and start taking action and making changes instead.

March 8: Venus now conjuncts Saturn in Aries. Use yesterday’s clarity to have the serious conversations and make long term plans for your future.

March 9: Mercury conjuncts Pallas again, this time in retrograde motion. Some strategies or spiritual practices may come up for review with new information emerging that needs to be incorporated thoughtfully.

March 10: Vesta enters spiritual Pisces, demanding our devotion to a higher cause. Perhaps it’s a spiritual calling, perhaps it’s an environmental or social issue, or perhaps it’s a quiet promise to heal yourself. This transit stirs a need to show reverence to the divine.

March 11: Jupiter stations direct in Cancer, reactivating home comforts and feelings of comfort and stability. The last few months was about dismantling old beliefs. Now it’s time to create some new ones.

March 13: Mars conjuncts the North Node making this a fateful day to take action towards your destined path and fight for what you believe in.

March 15: Ceres enters the sign of Taurus where she feels very much at home. This is a beautifully indulgent placement. Luxuries and sensual pleasures don’t just provide temporary satisfaction, but instead nourish us on a much deeper level.

March 17: Mercury retrogrades back over the North Node in Pisces. Consider any interesting insights you had about your future path on and around the 12th of February. New information around these insights may emerge today.

Working with the Moon

Following the Aquarius Solar Eclipse, March greets us with a Lunar Eclipse in earthy, reliable Virgo. Two things stand out in the astrological chart for the Eclipse:

1) Harmonious aspects from both the Sun and Moon to Jupiter in Cancer provide a stabilising influence. A Lunar Eclipse is a supercharged Full Moon and a Full Moon can be a highly emotional time. Jupiter in Cancer offers some reassurance: While for some of us, emotions will be big around this time, they are ultimately going to bring us a sense of security and safety - that feeling of “home” that doesn’t have to be tied up to any immediate location.

2) The Sun is still going to be very close to Pallas, the asteroid of wisdom and strategy. This is especially interesting because Virgo is a sign that rules systems. Both of these together indicate that it’s a time to release old systems that no longer fit our new strategy. Consider this an overall spring clean to any routines and habits in your life. With Mercury still retrograde in Pisces, though, it’s unlikely to be a quick one-and-done process. The eclipse might be an initiator, but we’ll be busy thinking about anything that comes up around this time for a while.

Combining these two themes, a few days before and after the Lunar Eclipse could actually be a great time to do a bit of spring cleaning around your home. Tidying clutter - whether physically in your environment or digitally on your devices - can often lead to new insights and mental breakthroughs. When our environment is uncluttered, it seems to be so much easier to think more clearly as well. Sometimes even just the actual process of decluttering facilitates new ideas and helps us see things from a different perspective.

Other ways to celebrate the Lunar Eclipse are:

  • Burning white or green candles for purification

  • Take a bath with epsom salt and rosemary, lavender or eucalyptus oils

  • Pick some wild poppies (responsibly) or buy a bouquet of lilies

  • Wear shades of green and/or muted earthy tones

  • Carry a green aventurine or moss agate crystal

Manifestation Technique of the Week

There’s a famous Buddhist story you may have heard before: A man is on a journey and comes to a river which he needs to cross. He searches around for pieces of wood and through a lot of work and effort he builds a raft which takes him across the river. Because the raft served him so well and because it took a lot of time to make it, he decides to carry the raft on his back as he continues his journey. But now he has to walk through a forest and with a raft on his back, the journey becomes cumbersome and difficult. He continues that way for a while until he finally realises: The tool that got him here won’t get him to where he needs to go next.

When it comes to negative habits - things like smoking, drinking, or excess spending - it’s easy to spot them and understand that they’re not serving us. But sometimes, habits that have served us in the past become a hindrance totally unbeknownst to us. A tool, system or technique that has helped us grow previously might suddenly restrict us, simply because we’ve outgrown it, but because of our prior success with it, it can be difficult to just let it go.

This lunar eclipse in the sign of Virgo is asking us to do exactly that. To spot the tools and habits that might be holding you back right now, ask yourself the following two questions:

1) When you visualise yourself as the person who is living the life you are manifesting right now, what does your daily routine look like? Which systems are you still implementing and which have you let go of? For example: You might be using a physical paper planner because in the past that’s how you always kept organised, but when you visualise your ideal life, you notice that you use digital planners to keep things in sync and easily accessible during travels. That’s a sign to let go of the old method as it might be holding you back.

2) Are there any practices, habits or techniques where you find yourself just going through the motions without actually paying any attention to them? One example where I see this happening very often is with a gratitude practice. People start writing down things that they are grateful for and notice a positive difference in their mental health and overall attitude. After some time, though, it becomes just another chore, another thing to tick off the list. At this point the practice becomes counterproductive - not only is it no longer eliciting those feelings of gratitude, it becomes just another mildly annoying thing to do. If you identify something like that, you might not necessarily need to give up that habit altogether, but you may need to find a different way to approach it. Maybe instead of just listing things you’re grateful for in a journal, you can tell a friend or loved one about the things you appreciate.

When your old systems start losing their effectiveness, that’s not a sign of failure. In fact, it’s a reason to celebrate, because it means you’ve outgrown them and you’re ready for new ones. Thank your old routines for getting you this far and then release them. Your best self which lives your dream life has no time in their life to hold on to outdated strategies. What got you here may not get you to where you want to be.

Journalling Prompts

With this issue's journalling prompts I invite you to consider the every day detail of the life you wish to manifest. We often think about the big milestones when considering our dreams - the weddings, the big promotions, the hit songs or nr 1 bestselling books - but that's just a fraction of our lived experience. The vast majority of time is spent with routines, but there’s no reason why we cannot make the seemingly mundane magical right now.
