Hello my loves!

The astrology of the second half of June offers a gentle ramp-up to what’s coming in July: a harmonious and powerful dance between all of the outer planets. Don’t be fooled by how quaint this sounds. When energies flow easily, they become powerful. With an uninhibited flow, things can gather a lot of momentum that brings about rapid change. That’s why most charts of floods or tsunamis usually feature trines and sextiles (harmonious aspects) to Neptune, the planet of water and the sea. There’s nothing to inhibit the flow and so it gathers so much force that it can quickly overpower anything in its path.

These aspects build slowly, so we will feel them with increasing intensity towards the end of the month. But June in itself still offers some interesting changes. We welcome Chiron in Taurus where he will stay for a few months before one final dip into Aries to complete the cycle there. A few days after the solstice and the beginning of Cancer season, Mercury stations retrograde to show us where our emotional intelligence could benefit from seeing things from another perspective.

The New Moon on the other hand offers a profound opportunity for inner child healing. This is not something that has to be forced - it’s happening one way or another, but if you feel called to lean into it, there’s a lot that could potentially be gained.

Lots of love,

Chrissy

Key Astro dates for your calendar

June 15: A New Moon in Gemini offers an opportunity to set intentions about what you want to learn, how you want to think and how you want to communicate as well as be communicated with. It’s a time to open yourself up to new options and follow your curiosity.

June 16: Vesta conjunct Saturn asks us to get serious about our habits, routines and how we show devotion through the things we do and say day after day. As the conjunction happens in Aries, we are asked to step up and be courageous and unafraid to try something entirely new.

June 17: Venus in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius, opening a portal for our relationships to be transformed, or for us to be transformed through our relationships. This is a day for deep conversations that could bring about profound changes in how we see ourselves and our place in the world.

June 19: Chiron enters Taurus where it will stay for a few months before retrograding back into Aries later this year. This time offers a teaser of what is to come when Chiron moves into Taurus permanently in 2027. Old wounds around money, wealth, property and assets may come up as they are due to be processed and healed.

June 21: Happy solstice! As the Sun enters Cancer, the way we socialise changes noticeably. The desire to meet new people takes a bit of a backseat as we find our way back to those in our circle who make us feel safe and held. With an immediate sextile from Chiron newly in Taurus, our homes as well as ancestral land become the focus of our attention now.

June 28: Mars enters Gemini. Physical energy picks up and new ideas feel energising and motivating. There can be a tendency to spread yourself too thinly, so be mindful of your excitement to try new things and taking on too much.

June 29: Mercury stations retrograde in Cancer. Mercury retrogrades are generally fertile ground for misunderstandings and miscommunications. In Cancer, sensitivity is unusually high already, so watch out for a tendency to read too much into what other people say - and have other people read too much into what you’re saying too!

Working with the Moon

Do you remember when you were a child and could lose hours just following your curiosity about something? Maybe it was dinosaurs, or marine animals, or ice skaters. For me (no surprises there) it was space travel and ancient Egypt. I’d spend hours and hours poring over books and watching documentaries and learning all I could about these subjects. This New Moon in Gemini asks: Is there anything in your life now, as an adult, that gets you close to this feeling of unbridled curiosity? And if the answer is no, then this is the perfect time to go looking for it.

In a world obsessed with making everything we do either productive or something we can monetise (or both), leaning into your curiosities for no ulterior reason other than to have fun with it, has become an increasingly rare phenomenon. One, I’d argue, is exactly what we need to counteract the homogenisation brought on by social media where we’re all expected to look the same, shop the same, and behave the same.

This New Moon offers not just permission to bring out your inner child - it necessitates it. It’s surprisingly free from any aspects, except for a dynamic, supportive sextile to Chiron in the final degree of Aries - the sign of the inner child. It offers an opportunity to change the way you think about yourself and the world, towards something that is lighter, more innocent, hopeful and ultimately healed.

Some fun ways to celebrate this New Moon include:

  • Play a game - alone or with friends.

  • Wear silver jewellery.

  • Use lavender essential oil or incense.

  • Cook a meal with fresh lemongrass or dill.

  • Burn yellow or light blue candles.

  • Meditate on an image of Mercury/Hermes.

  • Carry a citrine or blue lace agate crystal.

Manifesting with Astrology

The more you learn about manifestation, the more you begin to understand that our subconscious mind is the one running pretty much the whole show. You’ve certainly heard me go on about this many times in this newsletter alone.

The technique I want to talk about today is one I learned from Christie Marie Sheldon, the author of the first manifestation course I ever paid for. It’s a very smart variation on your average affirmation that cleverly bypasses that annoying voice of doubt that likes to creep in sometimes. This is the technique of “lofty questions”.

The technique itself is disarmingly simple. Instead of using affirmations such as - let’s say - “I have a strong and healthy body”, you phrase your desired manifestation as a question instead. In this example, we would say “Why do I have a strong and healthy body?” Adjust this to fit anything else you aim to bring into your life. For example: “Why do I make multiple six figures a year just following my passion?” or “Why do I feel so loved and fulfilled in my close relationships?” or “Why do I get to travel the world in luxury and style?”

These questions work powerfully with the way our minds operate. Instead of that annoying little voice piping up at the back of your mind whispering “No you don’t have a strong and healthy body”, the subconscious mind instead gets to work. Whether you want to look at it from an evolutionary or a spiritual perspective - human brains are made for problem-solving. You give it a problem - in this case a question - and it can’t help but keep looking for a solution and an answer to your question.

This isn’t even a conscious process. The idea is not to ask yourself that question and then sit in a corner and think yourself into a frenzy trying to answer it. You ask it and you release it, trusting that your subconscious mind will keep working in the background. Every day we are exposed to an enormous amount of information and stimuli - way more than we can even hope to be able to process. So your RAS (reticular activating system) filters out what it deems unnecessary and a waste of your bandwidth. But that information doesn’t disappear. Your subconscious mind still has access to it and it can use it (without any conscious effort from your part) to find an answer to your lofty question.

Before you know it, sudden insights come to you when you least expect it. Synchronicities begin appearing, opportunities present themselves that you never would have paid attention to in the past. Things just seem to almost magically fall into place. These questions are most powerful when asked in bed - either first thing in the morning before you get up, or late in the evening before you go to sleep. A solution you’ve been looking for may even present itself in your dreams when this technique is used in this way.

The other thing to note is that this is technique works exceptionally well if you’re trying to to break a habit. You can utilise questions like “Why did any and all desire to eat junk food disappear out of my life?” or “How did I just quit smoking from one day to the next?” or anything along a similar vein matching the habit you want to quit.

Gemini is the zodiac’s ultimate questioner, so there is no better time to give this technique a go than now.

Journalling Prompts

Before we get into the lofty questions, let’s take a moment for honest reflection first. Because the most powerful question you can ask your subconscious is one that's rooted in authentic self-knowledge rather than wishful thinking.
