Welcome to the Scorpio New Moon edition!

With a lot of watery energy all around us astrologically speaking, emotions are running deep at the moment. We’re not just more switched on to ur own feelings, but also to those of pretty much everyone around us.

Sometimes, this can feel heavy. Other times it can be quite fun, like when you know exactly what your friend/partner/family member is about to say before they’ve even said it.

The key around this time is not to fight what we’re experiencing, but to lean into it and work with it. You may feel a desire to spend more time in restorative solitude and that’s totally fine. Or you may have a craving for deep, reality-changing conversations with someone close to you.

Those who are willing to dive deep into exploring their emotional landscape are going to be those rewarded with the greatest transformation. This issue has a New Moon ritual, powerful journaling prompts and a few extra goodies to help you do exactly that.

I hope you enjoy reading this issue and as always I’d love to hear your feedback, so let me know your thoughts on chrissy@apeaceofchrissy. I personally ready every email and love to connect with you.

Enjoy!

Working with the Moon

The Scorpio New Moon takes place on Thursday, November 20th at 6:47am GMT. As it’s exact at such an early time in the morning, we will feel its effects the strongest in the night from Wednesday, November 19th till the Thursday, and aftereffects are expected to unfold throughout the entire Thursday.

If there’s one theme to give this New Moon it would be Power through emotional depth. You may be feeling quite introverted around this time, because it’s such a strong invitation to connect to your deepest emotions - something that tends to be difficult to do around lots of people, especially during a time when we’re so attuned to everyone else’s emotions as well.

This New Moon favours the brave. Are you willing to stop brushing your emotions aside and instead dive deep to find the root of what is causing you to feel a certain way? Are you willing to face what has been buried, however much discomfort that might bring? If the answer is yes, then this New Moon promises to reward you with a newfound sense of personal power unlike anything you’ve experienced before.

Because of the strong water energy and the introspective nature of this moon, this is a great opportunity for a bathing ritual. This works in the shower as well if you don’t have a bathtub!

Set the scene by burning black, deep red or purple candles. Black candles often get a bad rap but in truth they offer protection, creating a space where it’s safe for you to dive deep into your emotional world and return transformed for the better.

Use scents of rosemary and patchouli, whether by burning essential oils or incense, or adding bath salts, oils or shower steamers. You can also brew a tea with mugwart or use rosemary in your cooking to tap into the power of these herbs.

The best crystals to have on hand for this are obsidian, black tourmaline, labradorite or garnet.

As you step into the warm water, consider where in your life you are feeling envy, jealousy, possessiveness, or a sense of vengefulness. What situations trigger you and bring up emotions that you judge as bad, or simply don’t want to feel? Acknowledge these emotions and allow yourself to feel them briefly.

Next, forgive yourself for feeling them. Remember that forgiveness isn’t rational. It’s a relief of a heavy emotional burden. Visualise the water washing off those emotions while you forgive yourself fully for feeling them. There’s no need to judge and no need to make up any stories about them. Simply release.

Step out of the bath or shower and set intentions around the emotions you want to fill this newly created space with. What are you calling in now that you are lighter and freer? More love? More acceptance? More creativity? More joy? Speak them out loud, invite them in with the power of your voice. You can use an affirmation like “Now that I am free of past hurts, I create space to bring in more [emotions you are inviting in]…” or any other way of phrasing it that resonates with you.

Once dry, give yourself a loving self massage with a body lotion or oil and work these new emotions that you want to feel more of into your skin. Allow yourself to emerge fresh, clear and free.

Manifestation Technique of the Week

Scorpio season is an ideal time to talk about protecting our manifestations. A question that often comes up is “When should I tell other people what I’m manifesting?”. As always, the answer to this question is complex and depends on a lot of factors.

What is important to consider here is that when you share your intentions with other people, even if they’re people who love you and want what’s best for you, you may be faced with doubt. Maybe it will be expressed directly, such as a parent telling you “to be realistic and stop daydreaming”. Maybe the other person doesn’t say anything out loud, but you’ll still be able to feel the doubt or even judgement in their energy. And if that doubt creeps into your own energy field, you will start manifesting from a shaky, uncertain energy which in turn will yield shaky, uncertain results.

If you are fairly new to the ideas and concepts around manifestation and you’re still experimenting around and finding what works for you, I would highly recommend not to tell other people until after the creation process. At this stage, you are still building your own muscle of believability. Adding on other people’s doubts and judgments will be adding too much energetic load that you are not yet ready to carry. This is not so much about keeping secrets from others, but more about protecting yourself and protecting the space from which you are building and creating.

Once you gain more experience and confidence you may feel called to discuss your manifestations with others, particularly those close to you. There is a lot of power in co-creating with others who are on the same wavelength, after all.

If this is you, consider what you are trying to get out of this? Is there a certain reaction you are hoping to achieve, like encouragement or support? How would you feel if you don’t get that reaction? Would you feel discouraged or rejected? Or would you simply take it as a data point not to discuss these things with that person anymore?

Think of your manifestations as delicate seedlings before they take shape in the real, physical world. If you expose them to the outside environment too soon they will get knocked over, trampled or drowned before they’ve had a chance to take root.

Scorpio season encourages us to set strong boundaries and be very selective about what we share with whom. Make sure your own energy is strong, solid and unshakeable before inviting people into this space.

Journal Prompts

Scorpio New Moon Journal Prompts

This New Moon coincides perfectly with a Mercury Cazimi, the point where Mercury (currently retrograde) joins the Sun, and in this case the Moon as well.

A Mercury Cazimi is a profound moment of mental clarity and realisation of something that’s been hidden from your view. Coupled with the New Moon the insights have the power to set your path off on a totally new trajectory. Because of this I’d encourage to do these journaling prompts on the New Moon or as close to it as you can, to fully tap into this ability to see things with precision.

The following journal prompts are designed to help you tap into the clarity and consciously design a better, more joyful way forward.

  1. Mercury Cazimi shows you what your subconscious has always known. Complete this sentence in as many ways as it arrives: “The truth I’m finally ready to speak aloud is…” Write without filtering. No editing. This is your permission to speak what’s been buried.

  2. Mercury Retrograde has been showing you patterns, rewinds, and repeated lessons. Now, in the Cazimi light, ask yourself: If my inner voice (not my mind, my soul) could speak one clear message to be right now, it would be… Pay attention and take notes on anything that comes up.

  3. What old story, belief, or narrative is no longer true? What truth are you choosing to believe instead?

  4. What part of yourself have you been hiding, judging, or been ashamed of? What if that part is actually your greatest power?

  5. Is there a mismatch between what you actually want and what you think you should want? Go deep with this question and be ruthlessly honest about why you want what you want.

  6. The New Moon in Scorpio is always about death and rebirth. What version of yourself are you ready to release and let die? What new version do you want to be reborn as?

  7. Scorpio sees what’s hidden, while the Mercury Cazimi illuminates it. What subconscious pattern, belief or fear has been dictating your choices without your conscious awareness?

  8. Where do you seek control because you’re afraid of vulnerability? What would change if you surrendered control and chose trust instead?

  9. What are you ready to say ‘no’ to going forward? What do you want to say ‘yes’ to instead?

  10. Imagine yourself as the version of you who already lives as the version of you that has manifested all your dreams and desires. What would s/he choose today that you haven’t chosen yet?
