I love a good newsletter. Reading them as well as writing them (obviously). So my inbox is pretty much always well stocked with a number of newsletters just waiting for those little in-between moments. But recently, I came across something on an astrology newsletter I read that made me a bit sad and I thought would be worth addressing.

An astrologer whom I respected quite a lot (and who will remain unnamed because that’s not what this is about), had sent off her weekly newsletter including the full prompt they had given to ChatGPT in order to create it.

Now look, think of AI what you will, but there’s no hiding that it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. And this is not to bash anybody using AI tools in their practice or their business. It would be silly not to utilise them and I do it myself plenty of times - to generate ideas, improve my workflows, or when I need someone or something to bounce ideas and back and forth.

The problem is when we allow AI to do all of our thinking for us. The problem is when we rush from one task to the next so much that we don’t even bother properly reading what an AI chatbot has created for us, much less to think about it critically. And in that way it wasn’t even like this particular person was losing their credibility, because, well, everyone seems to be doing it.

In a world where you can create a studio-length album, a full feature film or a 40,000 word novel in just five minutes with a couple of keywords and the right number of credits, authenticity and originality seem to be harder and harder to come by. Social media platforms are encouraging everyone to keep up with almost psychopathic posting schedules and for many people, AI is the only way to keep up with these demands. But at what cost?

Authenticity is one of the key themes that will be under review with the upcoming Gemini Full Moon. It reminds us that words have meaning. Not just when and how we say them, but the actual words that we choose.

So let me take this moment to assure you that these newsletters are always one hundred percent my own. Yes, AI might help point me in a direction that I want to explore, but the thoughts, the writing, the analysis, the stories and even any questionable choices I might make, are all mine. I’m no Pulitzer and no Hemingway, but everything you are about to read is 100% real and I hope that it offers you a slice of respite and genuine human connection.

Sending you lots of love for the weeks ahead,

Chrissy

Working with the Moon

The Gemini Full Moon takes place at 23:25 UTC on December 4th, 2025. Another Super Moon, this will be the last full moon of this year.

Every year, the Full Moon in Gemini shows us where there is tension between what we say (Moon in Gemini) and what we truly believe to be true (Sun in Sagittarius). It reveals where we’re not being authentic, whether that’s in conversation with others, or even just with what we say to ourselves.

Each year, however, there are different nuances around this theme and this year in particular, the stakes are high as the North Node is getting involved with a T-square. The North Node points us in the direction of our destiny, purpose, or what our soul wants to learn and experience during this current life time. Expect some form of divine redirection if what you think or what you believe is taking you away from your most authentic and truest path in life.

If you find yourself changing your mind about certain things around this time - especially if it’s anything you’d been pretty set upon - then that doesn’t mean you’re being flaky or betraying your values. It means you are growing and evolving in the best possible way.

As these old stories begin to fall away, the Full Moon ushers in the perfect time to start thinking about the kind of person you want to become and what kind of timeline you want to choose for yourself in 2026. The astrology actually lines up beautifully for some powerful intention setting at the end of this year and I’ll be guiding you through it, step by step, beginning with this short but sweet ritual.

Full Moon Ritual

Begin by setting up your space. Dim the lights, light some candles (orange and yellow are particularly powerful as they correspond with Gemini energy). You may wish to play some relaxing music and burn some incense or essential oils (lemongrass, mint, chamomile and lavender are best). If you have any citrine, fluorite, clear quartz or tiger’s eye crystals, have them nearby.

Ask your Higher Self/God/The Universe (choose based on your personal beliefs and preferences) to show you the most powerful affirmation for you to use in 2026.

Sit, or lie down comfortably, then begin breathing in the 4-7-8 pattern. Breathe in for a count of 4, hold your breath for a count of 7 and exhale for a count of 8. Breathe deep into your belly and flow straight back into the inhale after you empty your lungs on the exhale, without pausing. Imagine all the old thought patterns, negative self talk or beliefs that are holding you back flowing out of you on the exhale and dispersing into thin air. Do this for about 10 minutes, or longer if you wish. You may feel some tingling in your hands and/or feet while you do this - this is totally normal and nothing to worry about.

After breathing, return back to your affirmation for the next year. Pay attention to the very first thing that pops into your mind. Try not to judge or dissect it. Our minds are quick to make up stories around the things that come in, but try to just observe and hold it there. Write it down somewhere you will see it frequently, like a calendar, planner or journal. You may also wish to get creative and incorporate it in a vision board collage that you can use as your phone or computer wallpaper.

If you’re struggling to get anything, you may wish to pull a tarot or oracle card for additional guidance. As before, try your best not to judge but instead neutrally observe what comes up.

Manifestation Technique of the Week: The Power of Hypnotherapy

Affirmations are a wonderful manifestation technique, especially if they come from somewhere deep within, like in the ritual described above. I have to be real with you, though: Sometimes, affirmations alone just don’t cut it.

Many of us first learn about manifestation as “Thoughts become things”, but as is often the case in life, it’s a lot more complex than that. A more helpful starting point would be to look at it as “Our beliefs become things”.

Affirmations work on the surface level. They change and enhance your thoughts and - if you focus on it hard enough and chip away at it long enough - eventually that will break through and change your beliefs. You can have plenty of success with affirmations, but it’s a bit like trying to carve a wooden statue with a nail file. It works, but depending on your starting point it will either be a beautiful finishing tool, or you may set yourself up for a long, arduous journey.

If there’s a manifestation that you’ve been stuck on for a while, you might just need another tool in your toolbox, before you can return to affirmations to refine what you’re creating.

One of the more powerful ones is hypnotherapy, because it works directly on our subconscious. Rather than chip away at a surface level trying to get to somewhere deep, it goes straight into the depths. It changes your thoughts without the need to constantly remind yourself and be hyper-vigilant about what you’re thinking (which eventually just gets really exhausting to be honest).

Let me give you an example: A year or two ago I did a course of 3 weeks of hypnotherapy aimed at improving your health. After a while I noticed that my cravings for junk food almost vanished entirely. If any cravings were there, they’d be for fresh, healthy food. Give me a choice between a bar of chocolate and a cucumber and I’d choose the cucumber happily any time. One time a late night craving hit so I went off to the corner shop for a snack. I came back deliriously happy cradling just a single red pepper like it was a baby. Hypnotherapy works.

There are lots of great hypnotherapists whose work you might wish to check out. Whether they’re courses, videos or audio recordings that you can just play before bed and fall asleep to, you can usually find something for pretty much any area of your life where you want to rewire your beliefs into more helpful ones. Marisa Peer and Paul McKenna are two I’ve personally used and had great success with.

You can also find a bunch of free hypnotherapy or subliminal messaging videos on YouTube, but I would highly recommend that you listen through them at least once while awake and paying full attention. This stuff is powerful and there’s no regulation with this type of free content, so make sure it’s something that you’re happy with before you start programming it into your subconscious and changing your reality.

Journal Prompts

Gemini Full Moon Journal Prompts

Gemini illuminates the two sides of every situation. These prompts help you see - and integrate - both perspectives:

  1. The Full Moon in Gemini reveals the parts of you that seem contradictory. Complete both:

The part of me that is [extroverted/confident/bold] wants to…

The part of me that is [introverted/cautious/quiet] needs to…

When I honour both parts instead of choosing one, I become…

  2. What story have you been telling about yourself that’s no longer true? Who do you become when you stop performing this story?

  3. Where are you saying one thing but meaning another? (Example: Saying “I don’t really care about celebrating New Year’s Eve” when in reality you do. Saying “I don’t mind doing all this extra work” when you’re overloaded, etc…)

  4. Gemini rules language and communication. Where have you been choosing harsh and loveless language in your self-talk? How can you be more compassionate with yourself instead?

  5. What chapter are you closing and what are you opening instead?

  6. What conversation have you been avoiding and why? How would you feel if the other person listened to your truth?

  7. What do you need to know or learn to move forward with a situation you’ve been stuck on?

  8. What vision of your life is so powerful and so grand that you’ve been afraid to voice it?

  9. Imagine you got to sit down with your Higher Self for a conversation. What would they tell you about this vision and any of your fears surrounding it?

  10. Write a definitive statement that seals your Full Moon work:

Under this Gemini Full Moon I declare:

    I am no longer…

    I am now…

My words have power and I use them to…

    And so it is.
